What does the K9 Master Class™ software package contain?
The software package contains an installable program which includes these components:
- Instructional Videos - Where Scott demonstrates each lesson plan, exercise and command.
- Field Sheets - With easy-to-follow diagrams and notes summarizing the lesson plans, exercises and commands. For use in the field.
What age should my dog be to benefit from the K9 Master Class™ program?
The K9 Master Class™ system is for dogs of all ages, but the younger - the better. A puppy can start obedience training when it is competent walking on a leash. I find 16 weeks of age is a great starting point for most dogs, however, if your puppy is walking confidently on a leash earlier, this is fine.
When should I train my dog?
We know ourselves that it's easier to learn at certain times of the day. The same applies to dogs, so you need to look at your dog's temperament, their routine and the weather to establish the optimum time for training and concentration. The K9 Master Class™ package will help you find the best time for training.
How long does a training session take?
When it comes to duration, aim for quality - not quantity in the length of training sessions. Your dog's energy and enthusiasm play a major part in the session. The K9 Master Class™ package will help you find the best duration, and cater for your dog's needs specifically.
How often do I need to train my dog?
Daily sessions are ideal, but not essential. Two to three times per week is good. Like duration, quality is more important than quantity. Many of us lead busy lives, so if you can only manage one high quality training session per week, this will be fine. The more frequently you train your dog, the quicker he / she will learn to do what you want.
Please remember: Although you are designating specific times to train, you need to reinforce the commands within your home environment.
Where do I train my dog?
Any good, open space without distractions is ideal. However, make sure to vary your locations. The K9 Master Class™ package can assist you in finding the right location to train your dog based on their current performance.
What do I wear while training?
Dog obedience training is a very physical activity for both the trainer and the dog, so appropriate clothing is important, especially if you own a larger breed of dog.
What extra equipment do I need to train my dog?
It is vital you have a bowl and supply of water at hand when training. The K9 Master Class™ method also requires a collar, leash and visual markers, such as training cones. The package can assist you in finding the ideal equipment to train your dog.
